I’m working on a text-based post that aggregates some of my observations from our time in Japan. In the meantime, here’s some of the photos I took during those ten days plus the four that H. and I spent in Seoul.

Street photography used to be a big part of my (weekend) life. I haven’t picked up the camera as much since moving to New York, but it was fun to take it out of its case for a bit.

Tokyo, Japan

Hakone, Japan

Kyoto, Japan

I avoided taking pictures at most of the temples, as I didn’t see a point in re-creating a postcard. In retrospect, this meant not taking a ton of photos, as many of our mornings were spent at the temples.

Seoul, Korea

We were in Seoul for a wedding, hence limited time exploring the city, but lots of lovely time drinking and eating with friends.

These last four photos were captured on a Camp Snap Camera, which I highly recommend for just dink-ing around.

Flight home

Spotted outside a flight from Vancouver to Portland — Mt. St Helen’s, which erupted “out the side” in 1980, hence its broken cone.

I grew up with this mountain in my grandparents’ window, yet this is the closest I’ve ever been.

As always, thanks for reading (and viewing).
